The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show: Featuring Nick Moss, Soldier, Kinesiologist and lecturer.

Welcome to The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show. Each week, I get to interview amazing people, who will share their inspiring stories of resilience. I dive deep into wonderful DNM’s with my very special guests, exploring their stories of how they have overcome adversity in their lives, professionally and personally.

Get ready to be inspired by their stories, golden nuggets, and actionable tools that can help us all to elevate our mindset, and be bigger than our setbacks. Within every adversity is an equal or greater opportunity. My intention for these sessions is to remind us that no matter what we are going through, we can overcome it, and discover what we are made of.

It is important to feel motivated and hopeful about the future. When we are positive we can be more creative, and innovative. Seeing our obstacles as opportunities, rising above the turbulence we can feel more ready to rebuild our minds, body, and lives.

Introducing Nick Moss

After his time as a soldier in the Australian Army, Nick developed a keen interest in high performance and rehabilitation. From there he studied Personal Training, Kinesiology, Mind-Body Medicine, and Integrative Medicine which equipped him to deal with the types of complex issues clients were presenting with.

He became a lecturer in those modalities for the College of Complementary Medicine and has written courses in the field of Sports Therapy Kinesiology, Corrective Exercise, and Manual Therapy.

Nick is continuously studying the human brain and nervous system. Most recently Applied and Functional Neurology and a Bachelor in Myotherapy.

Nick has a holistic but targeted approach to understanding human physiology at a very deep level. Nick's clients have typically been to see a range of other practitioners with minimal results and require a different approach.

In addition to developing Functional Neuro Health as a premier brain-based therapy service and education provider, Nick has another business called Integrated Vitality which is a holistic health education provider that educates people in online courses, face-to-face seminars, and holistic health retreats based on Integrative Medicine and Neuroscience.

Nick is a keen reader and outdoors person, always moving and training, developing himself personally, professionally, and athletically. Nick's partner and daughter are the true loves of his life, and he enjoys going on adventures in nature with them, living the healthiest life they can.

Nick believes that resilience is about how we transition through change, how we show up for ourselves, and how we adopt an adaptable mindset as we work through the shadow aspects of self.

Nick’s rock bottom moment was when he felt like he could not go on, he was in deep emotional pain from issues he was confronting within himself, and he was really feeling the effects of his choices.

It was at this moment he knew he had to learn how to focus, and rise up to the crossroads that had presented itself. An inner knowing is what he found, he began to connect more intuitively within himself, instead of analysing his circumstances just with his intellect. This led him into the career he now loves as a Kinesiologist and lecturer, but most importantly into a happier and healthier human being.

Nick says that “Kinesiology is the study of movement, and applied physiology interacting with the nervous system and the brain.” Using the biofeedback system of muscle testing, we can interact with the nervous system and the brain, helping the body to find balance and homeostasis from stress, disease, and pain.

“Life is better now,” says Nick, “I have a family and I feel enriched”.
