The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show: Featuring Tamara Paterson, feminine healer, Yoga and meditation teacher and founder of My Seven Blessings

Welcome to The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show. Each week, I get to interview amazing people, who will share their inspiring stories of resilience. I dive deep into wonderful DNM’s with my very special guests, exploring their stories of how they have overcome adversity in their lives, professionally and personally.

Get ready to be inspired by their stories, golden nuggets, and actionable tools that can help us all to elevate our mindset, and be bigger than our setbacks. Within every adversity is an equal or greater opportunity. My intention for these sessions is to remind us that no matter what we are going through, we can overcome it, and discover what we are made of.

It is important to feel motivated and hopeful about the future. When we are positive we can be more creative, and innovative. Seeing our obstacles as opportunities, rising above the turbulence we can feel more ready to rebuild our mind, body, and lives after what has been a massive adjustment to 2020.

Introducing Tamara Paterson

Tamara is a wellness professional with a passion for empowering women. She has over 10 years’ experience, focusing on supporting women in compassionately led workshops.  She uses a combination of Reiki, yoga, sacred circles, spiritual coaching, meditation and Taoist feminine practices.

Tamara is passionate about teaching women to make simple changes that allow them to be accountable for their life choices and take action towards their own healing.

“I have completed Tony Robbins Mastery University, been on many retreats and meditated, prayed and surrendered, sat in silence for days and nights, danced and sweated and smudged, burned oils, palo santo, smoked DMT and micro dosed LSD.” says Tamara.

Tamara’s story if fascinating, she has gone through events in her life that had led to a rebirth and a total reset. In her company you are at ease, her energy is warm and her wisdom is deep. I adore Tamara and am so excited to share her story with you. We met 20 years ago when we were both working for a fashion label together, Sabatini Knitwear.

Tamara believes that resilience is the ability to adapt easily, to bounce back after the unexpected. Accepting change is key and to feel guided in the process. Something that is difficult to do when we feel stressed.

How does Tamara achieve this? Her morning ritual that sets up her state to be quiet and still. How can we possibly tap into our inner guidance if our minds are so noisy and busy? “I love being alone and it is important for me to not distract myself in the mornings. I begin my day with breathing meditations. When I feel guidance I feel it in my heart, it is subtle, it is a deep intuitive knowing.” says Tamara.

In this amazing interview Tamara shares her experience of leaving a toxic relationship, how she had to see her situation with new eyes and in a different way. When she began to shift her thinking to believe that it happened for her and not to her, everything began to change for Tamara.

At her lowest point, Tamara felt broken, her knees hit the floor and she knew she had to surrender. She had no choice in this moment and she leaned into the dark black abyss of the unknown. She is now so grateful that she is more connected to herself, she feels more on path and guided in her life. She feels more inspired than ever before and loves to help other women to connect deeply back to themselves too.

Tamara learned that her co-dependancy was unhealed in her when she was living in this toxic relationship. The experience brought his into her awareness which was a gift. With awareness we can take responsibility, feel re-empowered again from within ourselves not externally. This is how she took her power back - so inspiring !

Her turning point led her to cut off her hair, and she drove 3 days to a retreat in NSW, Australia to live in a new environment. She put one foot in front of another and lived like that every day, forcing her to be more present. She travelled to India where she lived for 5 months, studied Yoga, meditation and did silent retreats. “It is a lifelong journey, we must bring in awareness to facilitate our healing and to help others.” says Tamara. “We must ask ourselves, how am I betraying myself? How can I look at this and change it? Turning our wounds into wisdom is the way forward, we have all the answers, we are more powerful than we know. We fear our power, accept it, own it and step into it” sats Tamara.
