The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show: Featuring Simone Landes, founder of The Lifestyle Suite.

Welcome to The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show. Each week, I get to interview amazing people, who will share their inspiring stories of resilience. I dive deep into wonderful DNM’s with my very special guests, exploring their stories of how they have overcome adversity in their lives, professionally and personally.

Get ready to be inspired by their stories, golden nuggets, and actionable tools that can help us all to elevate our mindset, and be bigger than our setbacks. Within every adversity is an equal or greater opportunity. My intention for these sessions is to remind us that no matter what we are going through, we can overcome it, and discover what we are made of.

It is important to feel motivated and hopeful about the future. When we are positive we can be more creative, and innovative. Seeing our obstacles as opportunities, rising above the turbulence we can feel more ready to rebuild our mind, body, and lives after what has been a massive adjustment to 2020.

Introducing Simone Landes

The Lifestyle Suite’s Director, Simone Landes, has more than 15 year’s experience in talent management across diverse industry groups. Prior to starting The Lifestyle Suite, (formerly known as SLTM), Simone was a Director at Macquarie Bank, working as a senior member of their Talent Acquisition and Talent Management teams.

Since starting the business in 2013 as a specialist agency representing experts in the verticals of health and lifestyle, Simone has gone on to grow additional arms to the business including content creation – focused on creating short form health and lifestyle content, and corporate wellbeing – focused on delivering program responses for the corporate market.

Simone has an inspiring story, she left her corporate job with Macquarie in 2013 to set out on a quest to build her dream business that is The Lifestyle Suite today. Simone believes that resilience is all about momentum. Some days we are ready to go, and on others we are not. The key is to keep moving and over time this is what makes being resilience easier for Simone.

Simone felt lost initially when she left her corporate career. She had put so much effort into her career, so this move was scary but she decided she had to give it a shot. She was ‘living to work’ instead of ‘working to live’. She did not have enough family time as a consequence, which led to a lack of a sense of fulfillment.

If you are ready to action a change or a new project in your life, Simone suggests mapping out all the worst-case scenarios and really go there.

Work backward from here, and note down what you would do to fix anything that may go wrong. It is the momentum and taking consistent steps forward that will lead you to exactly where you need to go.

On her journey, Simone’s lowest point was when she was still working in her corporate job and she had 4 weeks off, hoping to rejuvenate. When she returned back to her work schedule, she was still working up until 9-10 pm at night and it never felt like she and done enough in her day. It was a constant chase in her mind, to do and be more. It was at that moment she decided, she had enough. It was a moment of clarity that led her to change her life. While it was initially scary to make the change, she had to reset her values to become a new version of herself.

This was a 6-month journey and she started with limited experience in a new industry that she had to learn. When Simone started her talent management business, she said it was like putting on a dress that just fitted perfectly. You know it, you feel it and she felt so fulfilled.
