The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show: Featuring Lisa Sweeney CEO of Business in heels.

Welcome to The Bend Like Bamboo Resilience Show. Each week, I get to interview amazing people, who will share their inspiring stories of resilience. I dive deep into wonderful DNM’s with my very special guests, exploring their stories of how they have overcome adversity in their lives, professionally and personally.

Get ready to be inspired by their stories, golden nuggets, and actionable tools that can help us all to elevate our mindset, and be bigger than our setbacks. Within every adversity is an equal or greater opportunity. My intention for these sessions is to remind us that no matter what we are going through, we can overcome it, and discover what we are made of.

It is important to feel motivated and hopeful about the future. When we are positive we can be more creative, and innovative. Seeing our obstacles as opportunities, rising above the turbulence we can feel more ready to rebuild our mind, body, and lives after what has been a massive adjustment to 2020.

What does resilience mean to Lisa?

Showing up and dealing with things. In this week’s interview, Lisa shares her incredible story of surviving a knife attack when a burglar invaded her home and took off with her dog. It was frightening and was an event that took time to get over. Lisa knew in her heart that there was a choice, she could live in fear, or she could stop letting the incident impact her and stop giving the attacker any more power.

Lisa loves to travel and she did a lot of travel on her own so she had to learn how to trust people again. She learned to use her intuition which has not only helped her to recover from the attack, but has also been a core ingredient that has helped her to achieve business success, globally.

Lisa’s lowest point was when she felt scared and confused still putting the pieces back together after the event. In the interview she talks about fear anticipation that goes on in the mind vs reality. She uses her problem solving skills that she has now developed into all the other areas of her life and this has been a blessing for her. Lisa now has a skillset of being able to deal with problems head on, and this has opened up opportunities for her in ways that have been wonderful. I could not think of anyone that deserves it more.

Lisa learned a very valuable lesson on power and control. She now knows how to believe that she is in fact, in control, despite circumstances that may change around her.
