The skin is part of the metal element and in Chinese Medicine we would assess the lung meridian in the metal element. When you are are in balance in the metal element you would have a good sense of value and self esteem. Things would come and go in your life and you may be able to flow through letting go and breathing in new projects with ease. The emotions that typically block the metal metal are grief, guilt, processed sadness and longing. When we are stuck in an emotion we typically suppress it and it becomes unprocessed and stuck in the mental and physical body. Physical symptoms are often an end result of not dealing with something emotionally.
Feeling unaccepted, needing to hide or suppress. Feeling aggravated by your experiences with others.
You might feel controlled, judged or manipulated and therefore feel like your environment is no longer healthy. Erupting with anger, perceiving that your way is no longer being acknowledged. Holding your breath in protection. You don’t feel safe to move forward and breathe new life into your situation. Experiencing a sense of stagnation.
You may feel scared to move away from your situation, fear of losing your identity if you do. It may be a destructive environment but it feels familiar. In the past you may have been bullied or felt as though you were not able to challenge influential people in your life that were more powerful that you. You often revert back to a victim state if you feel dominated or challenged to cope. This way you do not feel like you pose a threat, avoiding further attack.
You may resent some of the people in your life that are close to you, making a negative association and traumatic association with them in the past. This causes you to subconsciously sabotage your success in your personal and professional relationships.
Let go of the resentment you hold, you no longer need to fight with the people and circumstances that control and restrict your freedom. Let go of attracting control as all of our stress is perceived. Question if your current situation is triggering past events that have deeply hurt you. Current stress and your environment may be triggering the past and is therefore not the reality of your current story. This perception reinforces the feeling that you are being attacked or scrutinised. It is time to let go of old anger, and irritation. Can you see your circumstances with new eyes?
Recognise the power struggle between you and someone else, and untangle the unhealthy pattern. You deserve a life of meaning, love and acceptance. You can stop feeling bitter and helpless now.
